Frauke Zabel's practice is often engaged in various collective contexts. She completed her studies with a diploma in Fine Arts and a Master in Art and Mediation at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München after a guest semester at the USP in São Paulo, Brasil. Many of her research based works have developed out of different archived and non-archived materials or the archives themselves. Her interest lies in the transfer and translation between languages, generations, media, times and places in the light of a possible deconstruction of hegemonic readings of history(ies).
